Did you dream of a fantasy garden wedding when you were a young girl growing up?
The sky was the prettiest blue you had ever seen. There was the smell of beautiful and fragrant flowers that embraced your nostrils. The slight hint and sweet smell of freshly cut grass was captivating and mesmerizing to the senses. The shining green leaves of the trees fanned and swayed overhead oh so lightly. Did you envision painted lady butterflies dancing and fluttering around? Celebrating in your joyous occasion by showing of their psychedelic, colorful and delicate wings. They were as happy as you were!
The doves were singing their most beautiful song while chirping wildly and flying in perfect unison all around the garden -- stopping only briefly to drink from the glistening water fountain where white day lilies respond to the vibrating waves. As a matter of fact, all the animals were singing and dancing! The world was singing and dancing! It appeared that you were floating on air. You were so happy and so in love! There was truly a song and fellow in your heart. The song I believe was by Captain and Tenille, "Love Will Keep Us Together"? Think of me baby whenever!
A circle of pastel shaded carnations and baby breaths with their tiny white flowers adorned your head. Your wedding dress of white accompanied by its long train and wedding veil was made of only the finest silk, satin, lace and pearls. The weather could not have been any better. The day was perfect with bright sunshine and a soft, warm summer breeze. Your wedding dress, train and veil flowed effortless with the wind. Your bridal bouquet! Oh, your bridal bouquet was so beautiful! With its delicate floral display and cascading ribbons! It was cuddled and protected in your arms waiting to be shared with the next lucky young lady! On your left hand to affirm your dream come true was a token of his love and promise to you, your diamond engagement ring soon to be accompanied by its coordinating wedding band. And, you never felt more beautiful! You felt as graceful and beautiful as Lena Horne or Audrey Hepburn in any of their movies!
Did you ever reflect back and realized that you were the only person in this dream? All that is missing is the man of your dreams. This is your personal joy! There is a vision of his face but physically he was not there. Do you remember? This is your big day. And, soon you would once again really become face to face with the man you have chosen to live with for the rest of your life – the father of your children. For the entire world to see and hear and in the name of love, you would look into each other’s eyes and profess your undying love by saying, "I do" and live happy ever after.
But, daylight comes around. When you awake the next day, you realize it was all just a dream. Near tears, you would tell yourself disappointedly, "It was only a dream!" Reality lets you know that it is a dream deferred. You would be so in awe of how real it seemed. Treasured images of your fantasy garden wedding and his face invaded your thoughts for the remainder of the day. But, the fantasy dream in its entirety would seek refuge in the back of your mind for the rest of your life until it really happened. Do you remember? Are you still embracing that dream?
