Pre Thought To Your Wedding Dress
By Estate Jewelry International
You've said "yes I'll marry you." Congratulations on your upcoming wedding!
For many brides to be, the biggest biggest decisions is their wedding dress. My most important advise to you is don't leave it to the last minute. To eleviate stress and uncertainty first determine your wedding theme. Once you've done that, set your maximum dress budget, then start to think about your dress. Knowing the type of wedding your having makes it much easier to eliminate styles that aren't suitable and focus on those that could work.
Think of shopping for your wedding dress as a new adventure full of surprises and perhaps a few tiny disapointments. Don't get frustrated or stresses, take it one day at a time. Look, try, and look somemore. With the internet at your fingertips you can virtual shop right from your desk. This will provide you with ideas of what's on the market, styles you are attracted to, and price ranges.
Many of us have dreamed about the "perfect" wedding dress since we were young children. Don't get stuck on the image you have of the "perfect" wedding dress. Be open minded and try different styles that work with your theme. If you have no pre-conceived idea of what your dress should look like, the world is at your fingertips. Most important, relax, and enjoy. There are as many different kinds of dresses out there as there are different kinds of brides. Think about what you want,, and who you are, then relate it to the wedding theme you've chosen.
In today's world no color or style is right or wrong. You will see everything from traditional white, to flaming red, to sophisticated black. You don't have to wear a "traditional" looking gown. Perhaps a pant suit is best for you, or you've always dreamed of wearing a glamourous designer gown in bright yellow. It's your day so dress like it is! When deciding on your wedding dress also need to think about your body type and what kinds of dresses look good on your figure. Don't worry about what other think.
If your theme is a large cathedral wedding perhaps you'll want a full skith with a long cathedral train. If your getting married on the beach you might want something as simple as a sorong. Vegas wedding? perhaps something very glamourous. Determine the style your looking for then don't waste your time looking at racks or pages of irrelevant styles. Determine your style then stick to looking at gowns within that style frame.
As I said earlier, don't leave gown shopping to the last minute. Give yourself plenty of time. I recommend you start looking 6-9 months before your big day. In fact if time is on your side start browsing as early as a year in advance. With wedding dresses you don't have to worry about what's in style or what's not. While your browsing gowns take some time to think about your groom and attendants attire as well, and how you will tie them to your gown.
On your wedding day, you not only want to look your very best, you want to be comfortable. It's going to be a very busy day with the cermony, all those pictures, and dancing. It's important that you are comfortable so don't buy a dress that's too snug where you'll be tugging at your dress all day, or were the boning is cutting into your ribs. When trying dresses or having your dress fitted be sure to move in various positions to ensure the comfort level. laugh.
As I said earlier you will also want to make certain the gown you choose is appropriate for your wedding theme. If you getting married on the beach the last thing you want to be wearing is a full skirt with heals, and a long train. For the beach a slim fitting cown or cocktail length dress with low heals or flip flops would be more appropriate. At the same token, if your marrying in a large church a tradition wedding dress is perfect.
You've set your budget and it's important to stick to it. It's very easy to go crazy and spend far too much on your wedding dress. Even if money is an issue and your budget is tight, with a little shopping you'll be able to find the perfect dress. Just because a gown costs more doesn't make it better. If your on a tight budget check the bridesmaids dress section and the prom dress section. You can often find a dress in white or off-white that works perfectly, and is hundreds of dollars cheaper because its not marked "wedding dress." There are thousands of dresses on the market, sample sales, bridal show clearances, thrift stores, ebay, and online retailers. If you know someone who is a seamstress you could take pictures from a magazine and get price quotes on having your gown made.
The sooner you find your dress, the sooner you will be able to move onto other details such as grooms attire, attendants attire, the florist, music, and all the elements of your wedding.
Most important, remember this is your wedding day. Wear what makes you comfortable and make you feels like you. Don't try to be someone else or please someone else on your day. Have fun enjoying this once in a life-time shopping spree.
